Janki R. Patel, MD

Dr. Janki R. Patel graduated magna cum laude from UC Davis with honors in biochemistry and molecular biology. She attended UC San Diego for medical school and thereafter completed her internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at UCSD. She has been practicing gastroenterology in the San Diego area since then.

Dr. Patel is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She is interested in all aspects of gastroenterology with special interests in women’s gastrointestinal health, obesity, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Her clinical focus includes Gastroenterology, Fatty Liver Disease, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. In her free time, Dr. Patel enjoys being outdoors in sunny San Diego, exploring new restaurants in town, hiking, and practicing yoga. Most importantly, she loves spending time with her husband and son. She is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi.
