Direct Access is designed for asymptomatic average-risk adults due for a screening colonoscopy. The questionnaire will confirm the details.
- You are between 45 and 75 years old — the CDC- and USPSTF-recommended screening range for average-risk adults.
- You have no active GI symptoms — no rectal bleeding, unexplained abdominal pain, persistent bowel changes, or unintentional weight loss.
- You are not currently taking blood thinners (warfarin, Eliquis, Xarelto, Plavix, or similar).
- You are otherwise in generally good health, with no severe heart, lung, kidney, or liver conditions that would require a specialized anesthesia plan.
- You can arrange for someone to drive you home after the procedure — required because of sedation.
