Dr. Rowena Garcia-Chuapoco graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Manila, Philippines in 1988. She subsequently completed her internship at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. Next, she completed her Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.

Dr. Garcia-Chuapoco has been in private practice in Daly City, CA since 1997. She is very much involved in the community and participates in various overseas charitable efforts and medical missions. She frequently travels to the Philippines for various speaking engagements and to teach new techniques in GI procedures to the local Gastroenterologists.

Despite a hectic work schedule, she tries to maintain a balanced lifestyle and spend time with her family. She loves to travel, eat, and do a lot of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and swimming.

Treatment Philosophy

Dr. Garcia-Chuapoco believes in providing compassionate and quality health care to patients and she does so by keeping abreast with new trends and medical advancements in the field of gastroenterology. She has a special interest in women’s digestive health issues.
