James L. Roberts, MD

Dr. James L. Roberts has been in private practice Urology since retiring in 2004 as Chairman, Department of Urology, Naval Medical Center San Diego after 20 years of providing and overseeing military urologic care. He was raised at the New Jersey Shore, graduated from Brown University and George Washington School of Medicine in 1984, and completed his urology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego in 1990.

He retired at the rank of Captain after 20 years devoted to improving military urologic patient care, Urologic Residency medical education, and surgical outcomes. Dr. Roberts spent the next 15 years at Camp Pendleton, in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War at a Navy trauma hospital, and NMCSD. He is on staff at Sharp Memorial Hospital, Sharp Coronado Hospital, and Scripps Mercy Hospital, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology.

His clinical focus includes Advanced Endoscopic Stone Surgery.
