Rachel Catevenis was born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Neuroscience from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. She then went on to complete her Master’s in Physician Assistant studies at Towson University. Rachel and her husband relocated to Santa Barbara in 2016.

In her free time, she enjoys surfing, free diving, and traveling.

Rachel is the kind of PA we all want - she is patient, knowledgeable, and caring in all of her interactions. She took the time to discuss all of my symptoms and experiences, and answered every question I had without making me feel rushed. After seeing 2 MDs for my issue, they were unable to diagnose my condition. After our first meeting, Rachel narrowed down the issue which was easily confirmed after 1 test! She did a CT scan follow-up just to ensure there was not a larger issue (thankfully there wasn’t), and I appreciated her attention to detail and focusing on my long-term health. Rachel is very kind and attentive to every detail you mention! As someone with vague GI issues, I had seen a lot of doctors that didn’t really seem to care or take it seriously. But Rachel was very thorough and seemed to genuinely care about every detail I mentioned, big or small. She has a “we won’t stop til we get to the bottom of this” kind of attitude. Rachel accepted everything I told her about my condition. She came up with a plan that made sense to me timingwise and wrote it out on a whiteboard that I could take a picture of. Great idea! Rachel is very approachable and I believe she will get me through a difficult problem I'm dealing with.

I see Dr. Kovacs but I prefer to see Rachel Catevenis . She is very courteous and takes the time to listen to the patient. I feel comfortable and more at ease. Sometimes it takes a while to get calls back to me but overall good experience. I think PA' s are the best!

Rachel is attentive, and patient. She’s very clear with myself and my father who is her patient, on what her plan is and explains her plan. She gives him options and ideas of possible back up plan if the first plan doesn’t work. She’s been great with communicating with primary MD as well. She never seems rushed or in a hurry to get through the visit. She’s amazing and one of a kind.
