Program Structure & Admissions

  • The Genesis Healthcare Partners and Affiliates Medical Physics Residency Program, offers a rigorous and competitive admissions process for one resident per year. The program is designed for highly motivated candidates who have completed a Master’s or Ph.D. in medical physics from a CAMPEP-accredited institution, or completed a Ph.D. in a related field with a Certificate in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP-accredited program. Applicants should demonstrate a strong foundation in the principles of medical physics, along with a passion for advancing their expertise in radiation oncology.
  • The residency starts annually in August. The selection process is highly competitive, and applicants will be evaluated based on their academic qualifications, clinical potential, personal statements, CV and recommendations.
  • As part of the process, finalists may be invited for interviews to assess their fit within the program. During the interview, candidates will meet with faculty, engage in discussions about their experiences and aspirations, and learn more about the residency structure and expectations.
  • The application package and requirement include:
    • Graduates from a CAMPEP-accredited graduate program in Radiation Oncology Physics.
    • Post-graduate (M.S. or Ph.D.) students who have completed a CAMPEP-accredited certificate program in Radiation Oncology Physics. This option is open only to alternate pathway candidates for residency.
    • Our program does not admit applicants who have not completed the required CAMPEP accredited courses.
