Thomas V. Aguirre, MD

Dr. Thomas V. Aguirre was born and raised in East Los Angeles, the eldest of three boys. He became the first physician in his family when he graduated from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He completed his Internship and Residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and his Fellowship at the University of Arizona Health Sciences.

Dr. Aguirre is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and the Central Coast Medical Association. He is committed to providing compassionate medical care, the highest quality of evidence-based medical care, and care delivered with sensitivity to cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic needs.

He met his wife prior to medical school, and they now have three wonderful sons. They lived in Tucson, Arizona prior to moving to Santa Barbara. His clinical focus includes Gastroenterology, Colonoscopy, Colon Cancer Screening, Upper GI Endoscopy, Capsule Endoscopy, ERCP, Esophageal Motility, Hepatology, PEG Tube Placement, Digestive Disease Consultations, and Telehealth Consultations. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
