Infections of the urinary tract and genitourinary organs may result in pain, quality of life impairment, and even damage to our organs. Men and women may suffer from kidney and bladder infections. In men, genitourinary infections and inflammatory conditions may affect the prostate, testes, epididymis, and penis. Genitourinary infections in women are generally evaluated and treated by gynecologists.

At Unio Specialty Care, we have had many years of experience with treating such conditions. An initial evaluation may uncover predisposing conditions that can be addressed by your provider. At times, imaging studies (i.e. Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine ) or functional studies (i.e. Uroflow, Urocuff, Bladder Scan, Urodynamics) may be performed for further information and to help formulate a treatment plan.

There are many treatment modalities available for individuals with recurrent or refractory urinary tract infections. Lifestyle changes, natural and herbal remedies, oral medications and antibiotics, behavioral therapy and even procedural intervention can be used to treat patients with recurrent infections. In complex cases, we offer the full range of procedures and surgical options to help improve symptoms and reduce risk of recurrence and further damage.
