What is labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that reduces or reshapes the female external genital structures. More and more women request this procedure to alleviate the discomfort caused by a large, thick or asymmetric labia minora. This discomfort can interfere with biking, working out, wearing tight-fitting clothes and sexual intercourse. If you feel pain from the twisting and tugging of the labia or itchiness and/or irritation, you may benefit from a labiaplasty.

What can I expect from the results and recovery?
Labiaplasties typically result in a shorter labia minora that no longer hangs below the level of the labia majora. Most patients find relief from the twisting and tugging of their labia after surgery. Studies show a high satisfaction rate among women who have received labiaplasty surgery.
In terms of recovery, most women take a week off from work. You can resume tampon use and sexual intercourse after 6 weeks. While most of the swelling is gone after 6 weeks, mild residual swelling may take 3-6 months to fade completely.
