Shahrad Aynehchi, MD, FACS is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of UCLA. While at UCLA, he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma, Psi Chi, and Golden Key national honor societies. He was the recipient of the Malcolm Stacey Scholarship, and College Honors at graduation. Dr. Aynehchi received his medical degree from New York Medical College, where he was awarded the Leonard Paul Wershub, M.D. Memorial Award, as well as Cor et Manus for recognition of service to the College. His general surgery and urology training were completed at St Vincents Manhattan, which was the level 1 trauma center for the September 11 attacks, and Westchester Medical Center. While in residency, he was recognized as an AUA Gerald P Murphy Scholar and a Pfizer Scholar in Urology.
Board-certified by the American Board of Urology, Dr. Aynehchi is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Urological Association. Dr. Aynehchi has authored numerous scientific papers and has presented at international academic conferences. He served as a volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine for more than 10 years. In that role, he was directly involved in surgical teaching and supervision of urology residents in the operating room. He also remains active in clinical trials.
Dr Aynehchi joined West Coast Urology in 2004. With a focus on laser and minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Aynehchi has a particular interest and expertise in advanced endoscopic stone surgery and complex robotic kidney surgery. He is also active in state of the art treatments for common urologic conditions such as BPH, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, urologic cancers, vasectomy, microscopic surgery and complex open surgery.
In his spare time, Dr. Aynehchi enjoys soccer (nowadays more watching than playing!), travelling and nature with his family.
