Dr. Mayank Patel was born and raised in Lusaka, Zambia, and then moved to the United States to pursue his formal education. He earned his undergraduate degree at Boston University before earning his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. Dr. Patel completed an internship in general surgery and then began his urology residency at UCLA. He also earned the prestigious Willard E. Goodwin Resident Teaching Award. Dr. Patel’s clinical interests include urologic cancers and robotic urologic surgery. He is one of a handful of surgeons in Los Angeles who can perform robotic retroperitoneal surgery.
