I was So very impressed today, pleasantly surprised !! As I have seen several GIs in my 75 years and it has NEVER been a pleasant or even satisfactory experience. Whenever I have an office visit he would explain everything to me plus answer any questions I might have. Had a colonoscopy performed by Dr. Alexanian. Before the colonoscopy he saw me in the waiting area and took the time to stop and tell me it wouldn't be long before my procedure. After a very frustrating experience with Kaiser Permanente, who refused to test me for the very thing I'm suffering from, and kept forcing more antacid drugs on me, which made my condition ten times worse, I left and found Dr. Alexanian. He's the most patient doctor I've met. Explains everything clearly, doesn't make me feel rushed, answers ALL my questions, no matter how many & is a great listener. He responds to phone messages & actually calls back the same day. He also calls to go over test/procedure results. He's great!

Hands down the best gastro doctor I've visited in the LA area. Takes time to answer questions and explain things without rushing you out for the next patient, will thoroughly strategize with you on ways to handle your condition, and he and staff are always friendly, chill and responsive. Have somewhat perpetual acid problems and not going anywhere else to deal with them.

Dr Alexanian, very kind, thoughtful, attentive, asked a lot of questions. I love this medical facility, they are the best in the west. The nurses are so helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you for all you do. I have been with them since 2012 I will be with them for the rest of my life.

I was stunned at his attentiveness. He was informed of my medical history the 1st time I met with him. He spent time explaining everything to me and answered ALL my questions. I felt VERY comfortable moving forward with him. I definitely recommend him if you need a GI doc.

Dr Alexanian has been an incredible doctor for both me and my wife. He’s an excellent listener and takes the time to clearly explain a game plan in layman’s terms. As several reviewers express, Dr. Alexanian’s communication skills applied to explaining technical processes into layman’s language is a strength. This goes along with the listening attitude and knowledge he demonstrated, in my case, when discussing prior diagnosis and future intervention. I am very happy for the younger generation of medical practitioners I am witnessing —who are now emphasizing practitioner-patient relationship as part of the intervention procedures.

I'm 71 and had my colonoscopy yesterday. Kudos to everyone at the Alameda Surgery Center. They did a great job as a team and made me feel well taken care of. And Doctor Alexanian did a great job as well.

This was my first visit with Dr. David Alexanian as my previous doctor has retired. Dr. Alexanian was GREAT! He answered all of my questions and concerns and I never felt that “usual pressure” of feeling like a number instead of a patient. He was kind, courteous, and really took the time out to helping me understand my condition(s). I would highly recommend Dr. David Alexanian!

Dr. Alexanian was awesome. He explained everything very thoroughly to my husband and was very understanding. This was our first time seeing him since our other doctor retired ,so we were a bit apprehensive. We were pleasantly surprised and are very happy to now have a nice, knowledgeable young doctor that will be with us for the "long-run".

Dr. Alexanian is very understanding, caring and knowledgeable. I was hesitant about seeing a new doctor at the practice after my physician retired. I couldn’t be more pleased with his replacement. He will correspond through emails and encourages phone calls should questions arise. He makes you feel relaxed and comfortable discussing concerns and ailments.

One of the best doctors I've had, specialist or otherwise. He takes the time to listen to you as well as thoroughly explain things, doesn't claim to know everything, doesn't make you feel rushed. He even petitioned my insurance to cover a very expensive medication that they did not usually cover for my diagnosis. He helped me come up with a plan each time I saw him and offered to be available by phone if I had trouble with my medication. He knows more up to date information than other doctors I've seen. I wish all of my friends & family with GI issues could see him.

My husband and I had been patients of Dr. Schulman for many years and recently found out that he was semi-retiring and that Dr. Alexanian would be our new GI. After meeting with him several months ago we just loved him. He's sweet, knowledgeable, and instilled much confidence in us both. We feel we're in very good hands indeed.
