Dr. Elias Tarakji received his residency, chief residency, and fellowship training at Wayne State University, School of Medicine, and The Detroit Medical Center. He has been practicing gastroenterology since 1996. His special interests include advanced endoscopic procedures and screening colonoscopies. He is highly experienced in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), swallowing problems, ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and biliary disorders. Dr. Tarakji is particularly interested in the early detection and prevention of colon cancer by screening colonoscopy and polyp removal.
Dr. Tarakji is the Medical Director of Valley Digestive Health Center, our endoscopy center in Arcadia. He chaired the Gastroenterology Section and the Department of Medicine at Arcadia Methodist Hospital. Currently, he is the Secretary Treasurer of Medical Staff at Methodist Hospital.
Dr. Tarakji sees his patients at two convenient locations in Arcadia and Glendora. Additionally, he performs his endoscopic procedures at Valley Digestive Health Center in Arcadia and Arcadia Methodist Hospital. Both of these facilities are highly recognized for delivering excellence in healthcare.
